David Tennant's Hamlet tickets sell out

Performances for Shakespeare play booked in 3 hours

David Tennant takes to the West End stage in Shakespeare play Hamlet

Hundreds of fans queued outside a London theatre today to buy tickets to see David Tennant in Hamlet.

The Doctor Who actor has been starring as the young prince with the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon.

‘The great news for us is that [David] is encouraging a younger contingent of theatre-goers, which is one of our real aims,’ an RSC spokeswoman tells the BBC.

Hamlet kicks off at the Novello Theatre in Covent Garden in December. There will be a some remaining 'on the day' tickets available for some performances.
