Jack Tweed has apparently been moved to a segregation cell at Chelmsford Prison after being threatened by fellow lags.
The 21-year-old Celebrity Big Brother contestant was jailed for 18 months last week, for assaulting a teen with a golf club in 2006.
He is also said to have been taunted over his relationship with Jade Goody, 27, and her battle with cervical cancer.
'At first, Jack was moved into a normal cell on E Wing, but he soon became a target,' a source tells the Daily Star.
'Some seriously nasty blokes saw it as a chance to make a name for themselves. Jack was told that he would be beaten up and cut with knives.
'They also shouted appalling things about Jade and her battle against cervical cancer.
'It was horrible and very hurtful for Jack, as he is beside himself with worry.'
Jack is now thought to be in an isolation unit in A Wing, which handles the Essex jail's most vulnerable inmates.
