Runner-up wants to pursue media work
Tuesday, 2 September 2008
The Apprentice’s Claire Young has decided to pack in her new job – before she’s even started.
The runner-up was due to start working for Karren Brady at Birmingham City Football Club in a sales role.
But now Claire, 29, has decided to set up her own firm to help her fulfil her showbiz ambitions.
‘I have been offered a great deal of media work and by setting up a consultancy I can do both,’ she tells the Daily Star.
‘I talked to Karren and explained I wanted to pursue both the media work and my own consultancy and she kindly agreed to let me stand down. She's been brilliant and I'm grateful to her.’
The job with Karren, 39, is thought to have paid more than the £100k Sir Alan Sugar, 61, is paying winner Lee McQueen.
