Evicted housemate hits out at rumours over her gender

Lisa Appleton says she can't wait to marry boyfriend Mario Marconi

Big Brother 9 contestant Lisa Appleton has spoken out over rumours she was born a man.

The bodybuilder, 40, was evicted from the house on Friday, losing out to Sara Folino, 27, with 52.6% of the public vote.

‘I was once asked if I was Michael Douglas,’ she tells the Daily Star. ‘Trust me, I'm all woman.’

Fellow housemates Rex Newmark, 24, and Mohamed Mohamed, 24, also questioned if she'd had a sex change.

Lisa says she was happy to leave to house so she and fiancé Mario Marconi could make up for lost time.

‘Mario’s the Italian Stallion and I’m Red Rum, so we like a good old ride,’ she says.

‘We managed to do far more in our hotel room than we did in the Big Brother house. We went for the Grand National.’

Mario, 43, proposed to Lisa in the Big Brother house last week.
