Fiona Phillips has quit ITV breakfast news programme GMTV.
The presenter, 47, who has been a host for over 12 years, wants to spend more time with her family.
‘I love the job but I’ve got other responsibilities - the children, a home life and an elderly dad who needs me,’ she said in a statement.
'And I’ve recognised that I can’t have it all.’
Fiona, who is only halfway through her £1.5million three-year-contract, joined the show in 1993 as an entertainment reporter.
‘After all those years of getting up at 4am we can understand why she wants a change,’ said GMTV boss Peter McHugh.
‘Her honesty and openness have helped make GMTV the success it is. She is a tough act to follow.’
