TV presenter got a beating at school

Former journalist Richard Madeley is married to his co-host Judy Finnigan

Richard Madeley claims he was once caned at school as a pervert looked on.

The TV host, who grew up in London's East End, says his teacher let his partner watch the beating for kicks.

'The master in charge insisted on bringing in a witness, and it was always the same teacher, a blonde who just happened to be his fiancée as well,' he explains.

'There was definitely something extra going on there.'

And Richard, 52, says the experience wasn't the only thing that put him off going to class.

'One kid was beaten with a metal bar outside the school,' he tells FHM.

'I had to leave because I was told I was going to get rumbled, slang for getting stabbed.'
