Davina McCall: Most Big Brother couples are fake

Presenter says housemates just want publicity

Davina McCall has hosted the show since 2000

Davina McCall has admitted the majority of relationships formed in the Big Brother house are not genuine.

The presenter says she's very cynical when it comes to those who claim to fall in love on the programme.

‘I’ve definitely thought some BB relationships were formed just for the publicity,’ she says.

‘I’m not going to single anybody out [but] you could think: “Well, they’re going to make a lot of money out of being in that magazine."’

However, Davina, 40, thinks Big Brother 9 contestants Luke Marsden, 21, and Rebecca Shiner, 21, are the real thing.

‘I kind of love Bex and Luke,’ she says. ‘They would never look at each other and think: “We’re going to get together just for this reason."

‘It's almost as if it was against their will that they liked each other.’
