Actor wants to make her his wife before arrival of their baby next year

Jack P Shepherd has been dating Lauren Shippey since they were both 14-year-olds

Coronation Street star Jack P Shepherd is to make an honest woman of his pregnant girlfriend Lauren Shippey.

The couple announced they were expecting their first child together last month. And insiders say Jack – who plays bad boy David Platt in the ITV1 show - as asked 20-year-old Lauren to marry him before they become parents.

‘They’re looking to get married before the little 'un arrives,’ a pal tells Daily Star Sunday.

‘It will be quite hectic organising it, but they think they can do it.’

Jack, 20, is said to have popped the question during a night out in Manchester last month – and friends say she accepted immediately.

They have been dating for 6 years.
