Distraught over her diet lie mistake, work worries mean a grim summer for the TV presenter

Taking a summer break from This Morning, Fern Britton should be relaxing away from the cameras.
The 50-year-old won’t return to the show until 29 August, but she’s taking a huge amount of stress home with her.
Having publicly admitted to a battle with depression in the past, life’s been tough for Fern since she was exposed as a diet cheat.
‘If Fern could turn back the clock, she would,’ a source tells Now. ‘She never expected the backlash to be this bad.’
Fern had to take a small pay cut from ITV when she signed a new £1.2 million, two-year contract three weeks ago, for 4 rather than 3 days a week, which she’s always wanted.
Losing her status as TV gold dust has taken Fern down a peg. ‘It’s made her look at things differently,’ another source says. ‘Now she’ll work every hour God sends.’
Although This Morning has ultimately backed Fern, ITV hasn’t been 100 per cent supportive and we can confirm that she’s definitely been banned by the channel from launching her own range of clothing for larger women.
The summer break off screen isn’t likely to give Fern the relief she needs. She suffers from terrible mood swings, so much so that her husband – TV chef Phil Vickery – is said to have had to coordinate his work schedule to help her cope with bouts of depression. This has put a strain on their relationship as he has his own business to run.

i dunno what all the fuss over this is!! Are all the viewers bumping their gums over the fact that fern can afford the surgery and they are still couch munching while she managed to do summit about her weight!? Whos business is it anyway wherether or not she had the band fitted or not, im sure she agonised over the decision as it carries a health threat and im sure it was not taken lightly her decision....but for all the couch munchers...get off your backsides and do summit about it!!! cos i bet my last pound, it was the overweight watchers that complained about it!!!!!
get a life now magazine. it'd pretty pathetic that you have fern on your front cover out with her family. how dare you talk about her marriage when you don't know her. if you seriously think she's 'falling apart' how do you ethically think it's ok to publically talk about her like that. get a life. i'm never going to buy your magazine again because this week it has shown you for what you are.
Oh for God's sake what a load of rubbish. Fern has got a successful career and is a beautiful woman who has managed to lose an awful lot of weight! Typical of some people's attitude in this country. See someone doing well and being successful, that there's some kind of vendetta and jealousy by certain others, so they do all they can to knock that person. Go get 'em Fern!!

I have never read or witnessed such jealousy, is this beacuse someome has done soemthing they arent happy with in their lives and actually they look pretty good as a result? Fern Britton is not a Bad person because she decided to make some personal changes in her life. What she does in her own personal life that clEarly dosent impact her ability to do her job is no business of anyone else, other than hers. With regards to it having an impact on her marriage, yet again a case of "clutching at straws". Fern Britton you are a truly talented individual and I look forward to seeing you back on our screens very very soon!!
