Jean-Christophe Novelli has admitted he can't wait to get hitched to fiancée Michelle Kennedy – but says his proposal was a bit of a family affair.
'I went with Michelle and my daughter Christina [from his first marriage] to visit my parents in Arras, Northern France. I'd wanted to propose for a while, but waited for Michelle’s birthday.
'On the last day of our trip we went for a big family lunch and it had been such a perfect day that I decided to propose there and then in front of my family.'
The romantic Frenchman, 47, says Michelle had no idea what he has in store. 'My family and daughter Christina were over the moon, and I couldn’t have been happier because she said yes!' he says.
The celebrity chef – who has been dating Michelle, 32, for nearly 3 years –
says he's never been happier. But as they're expecting their first
child next month, wedding plans have been put on hold.
'We have been so busy working, that we haven’t started planning yet,'
he says. 'The baby is due in September, so that will keep us occupied
for the next few months. But it will be the best wedding ever.'
