Vanessa Hudgens has spoken out for the first time about her nude photo shame.

Raunchy pictures of the High School Musical star posing in bra and pants and fully naked were leaked on the internet last year.

‘It was extremely hard,' she says. 'I made a mistake and I'm very sorry about it.

‘It was a private thing and I’d still like to keep it as private as I can,’ she says.

The scandal almost cost Vanessa, 19, her role as Gabriele Montez in the hit Disney series.

‘I want to be a good role model and I try to do my best, but I'm still me,’ she tells the Sunday Mirror.

‘I grew up with morals – I'm a good kid.’

Vanessa and co-star Zac Efron, 20, are dating in real life. They recently finished filming third instalment High School Musical: Senior Year, which is released on 24 October.
