Chat show host in shock after collision
Wednesday, 23 July 2008
Jeremy Kyle almost died when his chauffeur-driven car smashed into an oncoming vehicle on Monday.
The ITV chat show host was travelling on the A1 when his BMW Saloon collided with a Mazda MX3 in the outside lane of the dual carriageway.
Both cars were left severely damaged and one even went through the central barrier and spun on its roof.
The air ambulance was called to the scene in Blyth, Nottinghamshire but both parties escaped unharmed.
‘Thank god no one was injured,’ Jeremy, 42, says. ‘In any accident you’re shaken but I’m fine.’
The driver of the Mazda, Darren Shannon, 35, was amazed he survived the crash.
‘I was absolutely petrified,’ he tells the Daily Mirror.
‘I was upside down in my car on the wrong side of the dual carriageway.
'If something had been coming the other way I would have been annihilated.
'The emergency crews said Jeremy was shaking like a leaf.’
