Bobby Davro has revealed that he plans to leave Albert Square after only a year in the BBC1 soap.

The comedian, who joined the EastEnders cast last October, says he'd like to pursue other projects – but he hasn’t ruled out returning to Walford in the future.

‘I've had a fantastic year with EastEnders and made lots of friends,’ he tells The Mirror. ‘I hope to be back at some point.’

His character Vinnie Monks is to be joined by his son Callum, played by Elliot Jordan, in the next few weeks.

‘Bobby has been a real hit with EastEnders fans and it has been mutually agreed he will leave the show shortly,’ an insider reveals. ‘But a return is quite possible.

‘With his on-screen son set to arrive, it will enable him to visit Walford next year.’

Bobby, 48, is rumoured to have been offered £100,000 to go into the Australian jungle for this year’s I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.
