Lindsay Lohan pulls out of Emmy Awards

Actress wants to improve her chances of winning next year

Lindsay Lohan won't be eligible at the Emmy Awards

Lindsay Lohan does not want to be nominated at this year's Emmy Awards – the US television equivalent of an Oscar.

The actress made a guest appearance on US show Ugly Betty and was eligible to enter the Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series award.

But she has pulled her name from the list to increase her chances of winning next year, when she's due to star in another 5 episodes.

‘The appearance was brief,’ her rep tells the Los Angeles Times. ‘We made a decision to wait.’

Lindsay, 21, was praised for her role after filming concluded in May.

‘She was terrific – a pleasure,’ creator Silvio Horta said last month.

The Mean Girls star is currently shooting the movie Labor Pains.

Grey's Anatomy star Katherine Heigl has also pulled her name from the Emmy list.
