Talk show host makes announcement on TV show

Ellen DeGeneres is going to tie the knot with Portia de Rossi

Now the California Supreme Court has overruled the state's ban on gay marriage, Ellen DeGeneres has said that she will tie the knot with long-term girlfriend Portia de Rossi.

The presenter made the announcement during a taping of her TV show yesterday.

And it's rumoured that Madonna, 49, recorded a congratulatory video for the show, which airs in the States today.

Ellen, 50, and Ally McBeal star Portia, 35, have been together since 2004.
