David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson will reunite for the first time in 6 years

The trailer for The X Files sequel has been released – and promises the new film will be a spooky affair.

Gillian Anderson, 39, and David Duchovny are back as Dana Scully and Fox Mulder in The X-Files: I Want To Believe – 6 years after the popular TV show ended.

The clip shows signs that much of the movie will take place in a snow-covered environment.

The first film was released in 1998. David, 49, left the show in the 8th series, but returned for the season 9 finale in 2002.

The X-Files: I Want To Believe is released on 25 July.
