Kylie Minogue received France's highest cultural award on Monday.

The singer collected the Order Of Arts And Letters for the ‘cultural pleasure she has given French people’ at a lavish ceremony in Paris.

Culture Secretary Christine Albanel presented her with the gong, calling the 39-year-old 'a Midas of the music scene who turns everything she touches into gold’.

Kylie kicked off her world tour in the French capital last night. The tour comes to the UK at the end of June, with dates in Belfast, Glasgow, Manchester, Newcastle and London.
