Lily Allen's family plead with her to go into rehab

Depressed and fighting her family's wishes, Lily is in danger of a meltdown

Newly blonde Lily Allen's family and friends are worried that she might turn into a British version of Britney Spears.

'They all want her to check into rehab,' says a source.

In recent months Lily's suffered the devastating double blow of a miscarriage and a very public split with Chemical Brothers star Ed Simons, 37.

And while other female artists, such as Duffy and Adele, have exploded on to the UK music scene, 22-year-old Lily's star has faded.

She's already seeing a doctor and psychotherapist for depression, but her loved ones, including actor dad Keith, 54, are urging her to go one step further.

'Lily still cries whenever babies are mentioned,' says Now's insider. 'She pines for a family one minute and is downing cocktails the next. She's in a very low state and dyeing her hair isn't going to help.'

Only last week, Lily was thrown out of the men's toilets at London hotspot Dolce, where she was partying with Mighty Boosh comedian Noel Fielding.

'She was pretty drunk and told the bouncers she'd had a sex change,' said one onlooker.

If Lily does go to rehab, it won't be the first time. At 15, she spent four weeks in The Priory under 24-hour suicide watch when she tried to kill herself over a failed relationship.
