Paul Potts speaks out about death of idol Pavarotti

He says no one can ‘replace him’

Luciano Pavarotti and Paul Potts

Paul Potts has spoken for the first time since the death of Luciano Pavarotti, the man whose sensational voice inspired him to take up singing.

The Britain’s Got Talent winner, 36, was dubbed Pavapotty after winning the ITV show with a rendition of Nessun Dorma.

But Paul doesn’t think he's anywhere near as talented as the brilliant Italian tenor, who passed away this week at the age of 71.

‘You won’t find a replacement for him — he was my idol, he brought opera to the masses,’ he tells The Sun.
