Corrie star Denise Welch considered suicide

Actress thanks her family for getting her through depression

She's happy now, but Denise Welch considered suicide

Ex-Corrie star Denise Welch has revealed she was once so down that she considered taking her own life.

The actress has suffered from depression since having son Matthew 18 years ago.

Denise, 48, played landlady Natalie Barnes in the Manchester soap and reckons she’d be dead if it wasn’t for her loved ones.

‘I wouldn’t be here today were it not for the incredible support and understanding of my family and friends,’ she tells ITV1 chat-show Loose Women. ‘They literally saved my life.’

And Denise admits still struggles with the blues - her most recent attack was on holiday with actor husband Tim Healy.

‘I was sitting there in Portugal with a cup of tea when I could feel it start to happen,’ she tells The Sun. ‘The blackness came back and was very intense.’
