Vanessa Feltz gets engaged

Boyfriend Ben Ofoedu pops the question

Vanessa Feltz has agreed to marry boyfriend Ben Ofoedu after he proposed to her in Ireland.

Born-again Christian Ben, 33, who was the vocalist with dance band Phats & Small, has been dating chat show host Vanessa for a year.

They were introduced by their mutual friend, former Boyzone star Keith Duffy.

Ben asked the chat show hostess to be is wife while they were staying at The Clarence, the Dublin hotel owned by U2’s Bono and The Edge.

Vanessa, 44, tells the Daily Express: 'I'm just so excited. There were dark red roses strewn all over the white linen bed and when I turned round, he had dropped to one knee and was holding an engagement ring. It was wonderful.'

Vanessa, who has two daughters, divorced her first husband Michael Kurer in 2000.
