Teri Hatcher: I can't stand the gym

Actress won't work out with other people

Teri Hatcher won't go to the gym because she is afraid she'll be exposed to germs.

The Desperate Housewives actress prefers to exercise outside so she doesn't come in contact with other sweaty fitness fanatics and potentially infectious microbes.

She says: 'I can't stand going to the gym. It's too formatted and it freaks me out with all the germs. I hike outside. I lift weights in my house. I just have dumbbells and I do little isometric resistance exercises.'

Teri, 42, also claims her daughter, nine-year-old Emerson, keeps her fit - because she is constantly chasing after her.

'I run around after my daughter a lot,' she says. 'I'm teaching her to play soccer at the moment.'
