Carol Vorderman: I'll not host Countdown

Number cruncher will not replace Des Lynham

Carol Vorderman

Carol Vorderman does not want to be the next host of Channel 4's Countdown.

The TV presenter insists she won't be moving into Des Lynham's seat once he's recorded his final show.

'Please don't put a bet on me,' Carol, 45 told the Daily Mirror. 'Save your money.

'I love the job I have and hope to be by the numbers board for many years to come, even with my Zimmer frame.'

Des, 64, landed the Countdown job following the death of presenter Richard Whiteley.

But the former Match Of The Day host is stepping down after just 18 months. Noel Edmonds, Eamonn Holmes and Des O'Connor have all been named as favourites to replace him.
