Actor says fans only fancy his alter-ego
Tuesday, 13 October 2009
Robert Pattinson has played down his popularity with the opposite sex.
The Twilight star thinks the ladies are more interested in getting with his on-screen character Edward Cullen.
‘Girls scream out for Edward, not Robert,' he says. ‘I still can't get a date.'
Robert, 23, is getting used to the cult following the vampire franchise has developed.
‘Yesterday, I was having lunch down the road,' he tells the Sydney Morning Herald.
‘We were in this place for a couple of hours and suddenly there was like 400 people outside on the street.
'It was just so nuts and it's like that all the time now.'
Robert will next be seen opposite Taylor Lautner, 17, in Twilight sequel New Moon.
