Whitney Houston tops US album chart

I Look To You is a huge success

Whitney Houston released her last studio album in 2002

Whitney Houston's comeback record has gone straight to No 1 in the States.

I Look To You notched up 305,000 sales, according to the Billboard album chart.

It is the biggest first week sales of Whitney's career and the biggest of any female artist so far this year.

The 46-year-old diva has recorded an interview with Oprah Winfrey to mark her triumphant return.

It will air next week in America, reports the BBC.

I Look To You is released in the UK on 19 October.
