Jamie Waylett says sorry following his sentencing
Tuesday, 21 July 2009
Harry Potter actor Jamie Waylett has been ordered to do 120 hours of community service.
The 20-year-old was sentenced at Westminster Magistrates' Court after he admitted growing cannabis at his mum's home.
Police discovered ten marijuana plants when they searched the property in Kilburn, London, earlier this year.
‘Mr Waylett, I accept that the cultivation of this cannabis was on a small scale, and this was not in any way a commercial venture on your part,’ said District Judge Timothy Workman. ‘Nevertheless you used a sophisticated growing system to do so.
'I give you credit for pleading guilty at the earliest opportunity, your co-operation with police and the fact that you are, until now, a man of good character.’
Jamie, who plays Draco Malfoy's sidekick Vincent Crabbe in the films, admits he's sorry.
'I extend my sincere apologies to the producers, cast and crew and all at Warners and most especially to all Harry Potter fans,' he said following the sentencing.
