High School Musical hunk says girls get hysterical around him

Zac Efron has revealed a fan's nail once got lodged in his back.

‘Girls get hysterical around me,’ he says. ‘I was at a premiere and there was a huge crowd that got out of control. A barrier broke and I was pulled in every direction.

‘Later that night, I went home, took off my shirt and found a long fingernail stuck into my back.’

Meanwhile, Zac, 21, was celebrating on Saturday when High School Musical 3: Senior Year took home three gongs at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards, including the prize for Favourite Movie.

His co-star and girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens, 20, was named Favourite Actress.

Zac’s new film 17 Again is released on 10 April.
