Coleen Rooney: Wayne surprised me with roses on Valentine’s Day

Coleen and Wayne Rooney tied the knot last summer

Coleen Rooney was thrilled to spend Valentine’s Day with husband Wayne.

The couple thought they'd be apart because Manchester United had an FA Cup match against Derby County FC.

But Wayne, 23, was forced to pull out after suffering a hamstring injury.

‘I was pleased that due to missing the game through injury, we could spend the day together,’ says Coleen.

‘Wayne got me some lovely long-stemmed roses and I gave him some CDs and some chocolates.’

But Coleen, 22, says they kept it low-key.

‘We don’t go overboard on Valentine’s Day now,’ she tells OK! ‘When we first started dating we did, but now we’re married I think anniversaries are more important so we don’t spend lots – a meal and a bunch of flowers is perfect.’
