Lily Allen: Katy Perry's lyrics are crass

Singer unimpressed with rival's songs

Lily Allen's album's out next year

Lily Allen has criticised US star Katy Perry.

The 23-year-old reckons the I Kissed A Girl singer tries to copy her style.

‘I happen to know that she was an American version of me,’ Lily said.

‘She was signed by my label in America as, “We need to find something controversial and kooky like Lily Allen.”’

'And then they found her. I think the lyrics and stuff are a bit crass.’

Lily also claimed her rival once said she was overweight.

‘When I met her I was bit frosty with her,' she told Capital FM. 'Because someone asked her to describe herself.

'She's like, “Aha, I'm like a fatter version of Amy Winehouse and a skinner version of Lily Allen!”

'It's like, you're not English and you don't write your own songs, shut up!'

Lily's new single The Fear is out next month.
