Miley Cyrus celebrated her 16th birthday with her dad Billy Ray Cyrus

Miley Cyrus has been given her own recording studio for her birthday.

The Hannah Montana star celebrated her 16th on Sunday with family and friends.

‘She didn’t want a Mercedes, she wanted a recording studio,’ her dad Billy Ray explains.

‘She just wanted a place to record there at the house. She’s been writing a lot of songs, a lot of really great material.

'It’s a great place for us to get up there and work out some tunes and sing.’

But Miley, who has been working on songs with rumoured boyfriend Justin Gaston, 20, isn’t keen on sharing the space.

‘No one’s touching it but me. They’ll ruin it,’ she tells Access Hollywood. ‘It’s gonna be dope! I’m so stoked!’
