Madonna: Work distracts me from divorce

Singer glad that tour's keeping her busy

Madonna has opened up for the first time about her divorce from Guy Ritchie.

The singer, who is in the US on her Sticky & Sweet tour, admits she's thrown herself into her music to deal with her sorrow.  

‘I'm sad about my personal life, but I feel very blessed and very lucky that I have the opportunity to do what I do in my professional life,’ she tells the Associated Press.

‘It would be horrible if I was just thinking about getting a divorce and had nothing to do.’

Madonna, 50, and Guy, 40, were granted a decree nisi in London on Friday – a month after they announced their separation.

The couple are parents to Rocco, 8, and adopted David Banda, 3.

Madge is also mum to Lourdes, 12, with ex Carlos Leon.

Meanwhile, Guy has given Rocco a cameo part in his new film Sherlock Holmes.
