Simon Cowell doesn't want the BBC to ditch the Top Of The Pops Christmas special.

This week, the channel announced it would be pulling the show after 43 years.

And The X Factor judge, 49, has offered to take it on himself.

‘I’ve got a suggestion for them. If they don’t want it, I’ll take it,’ he tells The Sun.  ‘I’m serious.

'They can give it to me or I will give them a bit of money.

‘Why end the tradition? It’s like not having Christmas pudding. I don’t believe in breaking with tradition.'

Simon, who is working on The X Factor and US show American Idol, is keen to embark on another project.

‘This year has been phenomenal for British music and we should celebrate by making Top Of The Pops at Christmas a fantastic event,’ he says.

‘I’ve made them an offer and let’s see if they accept.’
