Amy Winehouse's dad to star in film

Mitch Winehouse will play cabbie in flick

Method actor Mitch Winehouse gets into his new role

Amy Winehouse’s dad Mitch has landed a part in a new British movie.

But the part won’t be much of a stretch for the cabbie - he’ll be playing a taxi driver.

The untitled comedy is about the music industry and Mitch, 57, is said to be keen to get in front of the camera.

‘Mitch has become almost as recognisable as Amy,’ a source tells The Sun.

‘He’s always on hand when his daughter gets into scrapes.

‘He comes across very well when he appears on TV to defend his daughter and the film’s producers like his charm.’

Amy, 24, is not expected to join her father in the picture.
