Cristiano Ronaldo wants to move to Spain.

The Manchester United footie hunk wants to quit British football to join Real Madrid.

And it seems he’s been swayed by the offer of big money.

Real Madrid have promised to pay him a weekly salary in excess of £200,000, earning him about £12million a year.

‘I want to play for Real Madrid, but only if it is true they are eager to pay me and Manchester United what they have been saying they will,’ he said in a statement.

‘However, it does not depend on me.’

Cristiano, 23, hopes to secure a deal after the Euro 2008 championship in 3 weeks' time.

He says he won’t discuss the move again until the tournament is over.

Cristiano is rumoured to be engaged to Spanish girlfriend Nereida Gallardo, 24.

After winning the Champions League last month, he publicly stated he had no intention of leaving Old Trafford.
