Johnny Depp wins 2 gongs at MTV Movie Awards

Actor recognised for his roles in Pirates Of The Caribbean and Sweeney Todd

Johnny Depp won 2 MTV Movie Awards

Johnny Depp was the big winner at the MTV Movie Awards in LA last night, scooping 2 prestigious titles.

The actor won Best Comedic Performance for his role in Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World's End and Best Villain for Sweeney Todd.

‘I'm not a very funny person,' he told cheering fans as he collected his award. ‘Not even remotely funny.’

Other winners included Will Smith for Best Male Performance in I Am Legend and Ellen Page for Best Female Performance in Juno.

Heartthrob Zac Efron, 20, won Breakthrough Performance for Hairspray.

Viewers chose Michael Bay's Transformers as Best Movie Winner, while Iron Man won Best Summer Movie So Far.

Stars in attendance included Paris Hilton, 27, and boyfriend Benji Madden, 29, Charlize Theron, 32, and Sarah Jessica Parker, 43.
