Actress can spend her money now she's turned 18
Wednesday, 16 April 2008
Emma Watson turned 18 yesterday – giving her access to the £10.5m fortune she's earned from the Harry Potter films.
The actress, who plays Hermione Granger in the movies, is rumoured to have taken a crash course on economics with prestigious bankers Coutts.
Emma, who's being paid £2.5m for making Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince, has completed a 3-day financial workshop.
'The idea is for the money to grow and safeguard her future - not be blown in a couple of years of high-living,' a source tells the Daily Mail.
'She has several trusted private bankers who will advise her and her parents on her spending.'
Meanwhile, Harry Potter co-star Rupert Grint, who plays Ron Weasley, has vowed not to move to LA because he doesn't want to mingle with socialites such as Paris Hilton, 27, and Lindsay Lohan, 21.
'I met Lindsay last summer and she talked about herself a lot,' he tells The Sun. 'She said she was going to win an Oscar before she turns 25. I just kept thinking: "But you can't act."
'I haven't met Paris and don't want to either. She and Lindsay are the type of girls you need to stay away from.'
