A fairytale book that marks the end of the Harry Potter series has fetched a whopping £2m at auction.
The Tales of Beedle The Bard – handwritten by JK Rowling – sold for 65 times the estimated sale price in London.
The book of five fairytales featured in JK’s final Potter novel, Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows.
Hogwarts headmaster Dumbledore left a copy in his will, to advise Harry and his pals how to defeat the evil Lord Voldemort.
Online retailer Amazon shelled out for the jewel-encrusted, leather-bound copy – one of only seven in the world.
JK Rowling, 42, donated the money to her charity The Children’s Voice, and gave the other six editions to friends.
‘I am stunned and ecstatic,’ she tells the Daily Mail.
‘This will mean so much to children in desperate need of help. It means Christmas has come early for me.’
