Are you anything like Chris?

I’m becoming more like him the longer I play him. I’ve always been a bit cheeky, but I’m not anywhere near Chris’s level. I do find I’m drawn to bright clothes in shops now, though.

Did you know you’d have to get your kit off before you started on Skins?

They mentioned it, but I didn’t know I’d have to walk down a main road in Bristol with nothing on at all!

Have you ever had a crush on a teacher?

There were no hot teachers at my school whatsoever. Put it this way: my French teacher had hairy armpits and weird eyes – not my sort of thing!

When was your first kiss?

It was at a teen disco in Nottingham. I got my mate to ask her if she’d get off with me. I didn’t even know her name. Not very romantic, was it?

What’s your pulling technique?

If I get chatting to a girl, even if she’s out of my league, I find the best thing to do is take the piss a bit. I just try to charm them and be jokey.

What’s your most embarrassing moment?

I was out drinking with a mate and we got chatting to two girls in a bar. The girl I was talking to went to the loo and, apparently, by the time she came back I had the DJ in a headlock because he wouldn’t play the tune I wanted.

I was carried out by four bouncers. When I woke up the next day I couldn’t remember a thing, but I knew I’d done something bad!

What’s the wildest party you’ve ever been to?

I’ve never trashed one before, but I’ve been to a few where gatecrashers have and I’ve felt really sorry for the host. It made me decide to never have one at my house.

When did you lose your virginity?

I was 17 – a respectable age! Again, it wasn’t that romantic. I need to work on that – can I put an advert in the magazine?

Nicholas Hoult, 17, plays Tony

Are you as lucky with girls as Tony?

I’ve got a girlfriend who I’ve been seeing for over a year, so not really. We met at school and she’s fine if I get attention from girls.

What’s the way to your heart?

I prefer it if a girl isn’t interested in me just because of what I do. They have to be someone I can have a laugh with. Obviously it helps if I fancy them, too.

Are you anything like Tony?

I hope not! He’s quite manipulative and cocky. He’s fun to play, though, because he makes his own entertainment. Unfortunately, that’s usually by being nasty to his friends!

Were you ever shocked by the scripts?

Oh yeah, definitely! It was never as bad as I thought it was going to be, though. And because Joe had got naked so many more times, I couldn’t really kick up a fuss. I did go down the gym once before my first nude scene, but it didn’t make a difference!

You starred with Hugh Grant in About A Boy when you were 11. Did you stay in touch?

Yeah, but we haven’s spoken for quite a while. Harry Enfield, who plays my dad, saw Hugh the other day and said he was asking lots of questions about me, so that’s good.
