As she travelled alone to London for last week's premiere of Did You Hear About The Morgans?, insiders say Sarah Jessica Parker is ‘struggling to cope' with spending time away from her children.
After a six-week stint filming Sex And The City 2 in Morocco, the actress spent just over a week at home in New York with son James, seven, and six-month-old daughters Marion and Tabitha before heading to the UK to promote her new romcom.
Sarah, 44, recently revealed that she has ‘enormous regrets' about taking on so much work after the birth of her twins to a surrogate in June.
‘It's the eternal conflict of every working woman - and I'm not complaining because I've done this to myself,' she admitted.
Sources close to the star say her workload is putting pressure on her 12-year marriage to Matthew Broderick, 47, too.
‘Sarah knows she made a huge mistake throwing herself into work so soon after having the twins,' a source tells Now.
‘She really thought she could juggle doing the Sex And The City sequel with being a mum, but she's barely seen the babies while Matthew's left as pretty much a full-time dad.'
On-set SATC sources say Sarah's still struggling to trust her hubby after his alleged infidelity last year.
‘They've been to hell and back over the past 18 months,' says an insider. ‘They wanted the twins to be the start of a new chapter, but there's still a lot of baggage.
'When Sarah was in London, she was constantly calling New York to speak to Matthew and find out where he was and what he was doing.'
As she left her £1,000-a-night suite at Claridges last week, eyewitnesses say the star looked ‘gaunt and tired'.
A New York insider adds: ‘She and Matthew have gone through so much. No one wants to see them like this, but they're both exhausted - him from being a full-time dad and her from work and travel. She desperately misses him and the kids when she's away and is looking forward to spending time at home.'
