Jack Tweed's late wife Jade Goody died on Mother's Day

Jack Tweed is struggling to cope behind bars, according to his mum Mary.

The 22-year-old is being held on a rape charge at Pentonville Prison.

‘Jack was a shambles [the last time I visited him],' Mary, 53, tells the News Of The World.

‘He hadn't washed in days, he looked grubby and grimy and there was dirt round his neck.

'But it was his mental state that was even more shocking to me.

‘As soon as he saw me he broke down in tears and told me straight out that he wanted to kill himself.

'He asked me to take flowers to Jade's grave and just kept repeating that he didn't want to carry on living.'

Jack - Jade Goody's widower - returns to court for a plea and case management hearing on 16 November.

He denies the allegation.
