Kerry Katona's ex-husband Brian McFadden says they haven't spoken for 4 years

Kerry Katona is on the verge of disaster – again – after Social Services were called in to discuss the welfare of her children.

Officers are investigating whether the mother of four is capable of raising her children after she was caught on film allegedly snorting cocaine amid increasing financial concerns.

They’ve enlisted the support of former husband and father of her two eldest children Brian McFadden, who's flown in from Australia to confront his former wife.

The ex-Westlife star is reported to be consulting lawyers in a bid to seek full custody of his daughters Molly, eight, and Lilly-Sue, six.

This will please his mother, Mairead, who lives in Dublin and dotes on her granddaughters. Mairead has been concerned for their welfare since Kerry and Brian divorced in 2004. She branded her former daughter-in-law an unfit mother in 2007.

Brian, 29, who lives in Sydney with singer fiancée Delta Goodrem, once said: ‘I was too young. Having children was like getting a new puppy.’

Kerry, 28, fears having to move her children into a council home like the one in which she spent her unhappy childhood, or losing custody. She won’t face the same worries over her two younger children, two-year-old Heidi, and Max, one, who she has with her current husband Mark Croft.

Kerry has appointed financial adviser Frank Cochran to find out where her £3 million fortune has gone in the past three years. Last week she was cautioned after claims she punched her accountant David McHugh after she found her bank account was empty.
