She wanted to shed her Hannah Montana wings, now it looks like Miley Cyrus will get her wish, literally.
Disney – which produces Hannah and is preparing her screen vehicle The Last Song – has bought screen rights to author Aprilynne Pike's bestselling young adult novel Wings for the 16-year-old star, reports Variety.
Tish Cyrus, mother of Miley, will executive produce with Temple Hill, the same company that produced Twilight.
Wings refers to the physical appendage sprouted by Laurel, a sheltered 15-year-old who suddenly discovers she's a fairy.
