Michael Jackson’s new album was going to be groundbreaking, according to his pal Will.i.am.
The Black Eyed Peas star produced the King Of Pop’s unfinished record.
‘It was going to be out of this world,’ says Will. ‘It’s something Michael has never done before – a dance music album.
‘I was very proud of it. But he was very protective and kept it under lock and key. After we made it I had to hand back every demo.
'He was a perfectionist and didn’t want anyone to hear it until it was ready.’
Will.i.am, 34, hopes the material will get released.
‘It’s so sad,’ he tells the Daily Mirror. ‘He was my friend and the biggest inspiration of my life. I’m going to miss him.’
Meanwhile, US president Barack Obama, 47, has also paid tribute to Michael, 50.
‘He obviously believes Michael Jackson was an important and magnificent performer,’ senior White House advisor David Axelrod tells The Sun.
‘The president has written to the family and has shared his feelings with the family and he felt that was the appropriate way to go.’
