Tess Daly: I sent Vernon Kay to pub during labour

Strictly Come Dancing host's husband was fidgety

Tess Daly kicked Vernon Kay out of the delivery room while she was in labour.

The Strictly Come Dancing host says her husband was making her even more tense.

'I kept sending him away to watch the FA Cup Final,' says Tess. 'And in the last stages I sent him to the pub!

'There wasn't an awful lot he could do and he wa all fidgety and restless. He made it back in time for the birth and he cut the cord.'

Tess, 38, who gave birth to Amber Isabella last week in a London hospital, says Vernon, 35, has been brilliant.

'He took the baby for a couple of nights after I came home so I could get some sleep,' she tells the Daily Mirror.

Tess and Vernon are already parents to Phoebe Elizabeth, 4.
