Kay Patrick rushed to hospital with suspected hip fracture

Coronation Street director Kay Patrick was hit by a runaway car on set on Friday.

The 68-year-old was rushed to the Manchester Royal Infirmary with a suspected hip fracture.

'The accident occurred as the crew were setting up for a scene which involved a small amount of vehicle movement,' reads an ITV statement.

'The female director has been injured as a consequence and been taken to hospital.

'No other member of the crew or cast has been injured.'

Actors Vicky Binns (Molly Compton), and Michael Le Vell (Kevin Webster) witnessed the incident.
