Actress raises awareness of domestic violence in advert
Friday, 3 April 2009
Two months after news broke of the alleged violent fight between Rihanna and Chris Brown, a PSA about domestic violence starring Keira Knightley is set to debut in theaters.
The two-minute clip, which will start airing April 6, depicts Knightley being violently kicked and beaten by a man.
'While domestic violence exists in every section of society we rarely hear about it,' says the actress, who volunteered to act in the clip for the charity Women's Aid. 'Domestic violence affects one in four women at some point in their lifetime and kills two women every week.' Atonement director Joe Wright directed the spot.
