American Idol judge thinks blogging site is overrated

Simon Cowell is not good with new technology

Simon Cowell won’t be joining Twitter anytime soon.

The American Idol judge doesn’t understand why the micro-blogging site is so popular.

‘Why would you want to talk to people like that?’ Simon tells US show Extra.

‘It's like phoning someone randomly whose number you don't even have and saying: “Hi, it's Simon, I went out with my family this weekend.”’

Simon, 49, made the comments after finding out American Idol host Ryan Seacrest, 34, has been using Twitter to poke fun at him.

‘Spent weekend with my fam,’ he wrote. ‘My 86-year-old grandma sat on Simon’s lap.’
