Coronation Street star Alison King has a baby girl

Actress who plays Carla Connor gives birth in Manchester

Alison King was last seen on screens as Carla Connor on Friday

Alison King and her partner Adam Huckett have become parents for the first time.

The Coronation Street star, who plays Carla Connor, gave birth to a baby girl at a Manchester hospital yesterday morning.

The little one weighed in at 6lbs 7oz.

‘Mum and baby are doing well,’ a show spokesman confirms. ‘Everyone sends Alison and Adam their best wishes.’

Alison and Adam, who is a sound assistant on Corrie, are yet to reveal the baby's name.

Alison, 35, is expected to return to the ITV soap in the autumn.
