Singer wins Best R&B Album at LA ceremony

Jennifer Hudson 's estanged brother-in-law has been charged over the killings

Jennifer Hudson paid a tearful tribute to her dead family at the Grammy Awards on Sunday.

The American Idol singer, whose mum, brother and young nephew were shot dead in October, won Best R&B Album at the music ceremony in LA.

‘I first would like to thank God who has brought me through,’ she said.

‘I would like to thank my family in heaven and those who are with me today.’

Jennifer, 27, later gave an emotional performance of You Pulled Me Through.

Other winners on the night included Coldplay, who won three gongs and Adele for Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.
