Akon pleads guilty to harassment for tossing fan

Singer to perform 65 hours of community service

Singer will serve no jail time

Akon pleaded guilty to harassment Wednesday for throwing a fan off stage during a June 2007 concert.

The singer, 35, must pay a $250 fine and perform 65 hours of community service, but he will serve no jail time, the Associated Press reports.

Last year, Akon entered a not guilty plea in a Fishkill, N.Y., courtroom, disputing that he threw a teenager off the stage in a minor league baseball stadium near Poughkeepsie. A nearby concertgoer alleged that she suffered a concussion when the teen landed on her.

The incident was caught on tape – and spread all over the Internet at the time.

Akon declined comment as he left court on Wednesday.
